Renee Nicole Macklin Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent on January 7, 2026. The Video shows armored, masked ICE agents hop out of an unmarked pickup truck (which does have police lights on the front), and attempt to rip open her door. She attempts to drive away and a third agent draws his gun and shoots and kills her.

Trump claimed a woman taking video and screaming was "a professional agitator", and claims Renee Good "violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self defense." He then blames the "Radical Left" for this murder: "the reason these incidents are happening is because the Radical Left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our Law Enforcement Officers and ICE Agents on a daily basis."

No ICE officer was run over. The video clearly shows her back up, then turn her tires to the right, away from the ICE Officer, before attempting to drive away. It appears he shot once through the windshield and twice from the side of the vehicle. He was barely in the way, if at all, and had ample time to move. The shooting was completely avoidable. This was murder.

It is not the fault of Democrats or the "Radical Left" for their rhetoric. Democrats did not shoot that woman. An armed ICE agent did. ICE never should have been in that community, and the ICE officer never should have been in front of that vehicle.

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said the woman engaged in an "act of domestic terrorism," that she "attacked" the ICE agents and "attempted to run them over" and "this goes to show the assaults that our ICE officers and our law enforcement are under every single day."

The shooting in itself is horrifying and never should have happened. Our country is not new to police killings. The especially horrifying thing about this murder is that the President, Homeland Security, and many Republican Congresspeople are claiming this murder was justified, and blaming "the left" or "Democrats" for it. They're outright lying about what happened, and they're giving official approval for ICE agents to murder American Citizens.

Resistance

Our federal government is often out of reach. However, your local Republicans are generally very easy to access. You can email them or go to County Board or City Council meetings and speak during public comments. You can write Letters To The Editor to your local newspaper. You can show up at your Republican representatives' public events and protest, or attend events and advocate with people.

Local Republicans are not the national decision makers, but they are part of the national party and have connections with state and federal Republicans.

You can also ask local governments - city councils and county boards - to pass resolutions denouncing the administration. We need nationwide resistance from the bottom up. The tragedy will not end unless we demand it end.
